He received his Master’s degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and went on to join The Carla Bley Big Band\, Bley later becoming a dedicated mentor. As he launched his solo career\, O’Farrill collaborated with musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie\, Harry Belafonte\, Noel Pointer\, Jerry Gonzalez\, and countless others. O’Farrill is the founder and artistic director of the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (ALJO)\, which\, since its founding in 2002\, has pushed modern Afro-Latin jazz into new and innovative directions. He just celebrated his 75th and still punching out the blues.He kept the show alive last year and took out his accoustic guitar instead when the power temporarily went out in the area.  \n“Chuck Lambert is a versatile blues guitarist and singer whose sound and presence is well-known across the Jersey Shore\, NYC\, and Philadelphia\, but is most loved in his hometown of Red Bank\, NJ. While attending Lafayette College in the early 70’s\, he was a member of the Tim McCabe Blues Gang\, whose primary function was to play backup for touring blues legends on the East Coast college circuit. It was then that he was able to play for legends such as John Lee Hooker\, J.B. Hutto\, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. DESCRIPTION:According to the park system\, Clayton is “one of the most beautiful parks in the Park System\, the property is known for stately stands of red and white oak\, beech\, ash and birch trees.” It has nice rolling hills and a pond and creek. Imlaystown downtown is 2 blocks long and interesting to say the least. \nhttps://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/page.aspx?Id=2517 \nWe’ll do about 4.6 with option for about 3/4 mile less.  Bring the usual water and bug spray. Poles helpful for some. \nAfterwards we can visit Roys Deli close by. They have fair prices\, good food\, fresh backed muffins and scones and do a great job and are nice to us. \nAfer lunch we’ll head to Cream Ridge Winery\, also close by for their tastings and some music. Bring a chair if want to sit outside. They have an air conditioned room wher you can enjoy your wine and any snacks. DESCRIPTION:This festival was great a few years back – should be even better this year with the Eddie Testa Band and our old friends Only Human who are back after about 10 years.  They were the first band and event I posted in our meetup group back oni July 4\, 2016. Rich Villalva and Marc Coccio went oni to lead Rock Bottom Band.  Rich is back after his well known battle and setting his acoustic alter ego aside to rejoin his old group. Duke on drums and Mike on bass are sharp. DESCRIPTION:This is another nice park we do – Don’t miss it.\nNice\, scenic well maintained park with a river\, rolling hills\, naturally occurring wooden bridges\, lol\, some roots and mostly wide trails. Also has a possible UFO landing site.\nWe’ll meet at the parking lot just past the entrance (1101 Schoolhouse Road\, Wall) and do the Hidden Creek and Pine Hills trails which are rated moderate with some hills. \nDress for the weather and trail conditions. Hiking boots always best. Poles may be helpful to some.\nWater and bug spray also recommended.\nIt’s listed as being in both Neptune City and Wall Twp. Follow the signs from the GSP or Route 33.
