USE OF INFORMATION
This is a free social club. We collect the minimum we need to run it, we never sell your information, and we never share member profiles or email addresses with advertisers.
WHO WE ARE
Eclectic Music Events and More is a free social group for active adults in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you register as a member:
- your name or display name
- your email address
- your profile photo
- anything else you choose to put in your profile
When you use the site:
- which events you RSVP to, and whether you attended
- comments or messages you post
- basic technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, and standard cookies that keep you logged in
We do not ask for and do not store payment details. Our events are free, and where a venue charges, you pay the venue directly.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
- to create and run your membership account
- to let you RSVP, and to give hosts an accurate headcount
- to let other members recognise you at events (this is why we ask for a photo)
- to email you when new events are posted
- to keep the site working and secure
EMAILS YOU WILL GET
Members receive an email when a new event is posted, and occasional notices about the group. You can turn event emails off at any time in your account settings. We do not send advertising and we do not email you on behalf of anyone else.
WHO CAN SEE YOUR INFORMATION
- Your profile, including your photo and display name, is visible to other logged-in members. It is not shown to the public.
- Your RSVP is visible to the event host and to other members.
- Your email address is never shown to other members, never shared with advertisers, and never sold.
PHOTOS AT EVENTS
Photographs are often taken at our events and may be posted on this site or on our social media pages, and your attending an event signifies your acceptance of this policy.
SOCIAL MEDIA
When an event is published on this site, a post about that event is automatically shared to our Facebook page, Instagram, Threads and Pinterest accounts. Those posts, as well as others made in other online or print media such as local newspapers, contain the event details, the event photo and a link back to this site. They never contain member names, member photos or RSVP lists.
Once a post is on those platforms it is handled under that platform’s own privacy policy, not this one.
COOKIES
The site uses cookies to keep you logged in, to remember your preferences, and to help pages load quickly. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay logged in if you do.
WHO ELSE HANDLES YOUR DATA
We use ordinary service providers to run the site – a web host, and Meta and Pinterest for the social posts described above. They only handle what is needed to provide that service. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, for any purpose.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep your account for as long as you are a member. You may leave at any time. See “Using Site” for how to delete your account.
YOUR CHOICES
You can at any time:
- view and edit your profile from your account page
- turn off event emails
- delete your own account and everything in it, for any reason – see “Using Site”
CHILDREN
This is a group for adults. The site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
SECURITY
The site runs over an encrypted (https) connection and passwords are stored in scrambled form, never in plain text. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable care of what you give us.
CHANGES
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be mentioned to members.
