1. ABOUT THESE TERMS
This is a free website run by Eclectic Music Events and More, a social group for active adults in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
By using this site, registering as a member, or attending one of our events, you accept these terms. If you do not understand or accept them, please do not use the site.
2. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
This is a free website. Members agree to use it at their own risk. No duty is owed by operator of site to anyone. Use is subject to our standard disclaimer appearing below:
DISCLAIMER: Use of this site and attendance at an event signifies you have read and accepted this liability disclaimer, that you are responsible for your own (and your guests) preparedness and well-being, and agree not to hold anyone else liable in case of injury or mishap.
This applies to every activity we list, and applies with particular force to walks, hikes, bike rides and anything else physical. You know your own fitness and health. Decide for yourself whether an activity is suitable for you, come properly equipped, and stop if you need to. You are responsible for any guest you bring.
3. MEMBERSHIP
Membership is free and is for adults. To join you register an account and, we ask, upload a photo of yourself. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for anything done under your account. Give us accurate information – an account in a false name, or a duplicate account, may be removed.
4. POLICIES
Please upload a personal photo when joining so members can be identified at events.
Please be sure to rsvp if planning to attend an event. Its best to rsvp when events are first posted, as events subject to cancellation if low rsvps. If you find you can’t attend then update. If you forget to rsvp and attend you will be added as having attended and reminded to rsvp in future. Say hi to the host when arriving – its common sense and also courteous and friendly and lets them know you attended.
Please change your RSVP when requested or at least one hour in advance otherwise, if not attending, especially if there is a wait list. Our arrangements with venues depends on turnout. Habitual no-shows subject to removal.
No political “discussions” permitted. Do that elsewhere.
Spreading of gossip to injure another’s reputation is prohibited.
Cliques at posted events are discouraged. We dine and socialize together in this group. If that is a problem for you, you should not be in this group.
Any member who provides our private group info. for use by removed members, cliques or other groups will be removed and banned. Don’t do it.
Anyone or group found to be undermining the operation of the group will be removed.
Members will be removed if they repeatedly fail to honor these basic policies.
5. EVENTS AND VENUES
Our events are informal get-togethers, not commercially organized tours. Many take place at restaurants, parks, bars and venues we do not own or control, and some are public events run by other organizations that we simply list so members can go together. We are not responsible for those venues, their staff, their pricing, their safety or their conduct.
Events are free to join. Where a venue charges for food, drink, parking or admission, you pay the venue directly.
Events can be changed, moved or cancelled – most often because of weather or low RSVP numbers. We will post the change on the site, but please check before setting out.
6. PHOTOS
Photographs are often taken at our events and may be posted on this site or on our social media pages, and your attending an event signifies your acceptance of this policy.
7. WHAT YOU POST
Anything you post – comments, profile text, photos – stays yours, but you give us permission to display it on the site and, where relevant, in our event posts. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, or that belongs to someone else. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or the policies in section 4.
8. REMOVAL OF ACCOUNTS
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the policies above. Accounts that show no activity for an extended period are sent a reminder first and may then be removed. You can also close your own account at any time. See “Using Site.”
9. PRIVACY
How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: we never sell member data and member profiles and email addresses are never shared with advertisers.
10. NO GUARANTEE ABOUT THE SITE
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will always be online, error-free, or that every event listing is correct.
11. CHANGES
We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page, with the date at the top.
12. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
