“An acclaimed trumpeter, arranger, composer, author, and educator, Eddie Allen is one of the most versatile and experienced musicians on the New York scene. Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he received a Bachelor of Music degree from William Paterson University. Since arriving in New York, he has performed with jazz greats such as Art Blakey, Billy Harper, Randy Weston, Dizzy Gillespie, Henry Threadgill, Bobby Watson, Jon Faddis, Benny Carter, Panama Francis, Joe Henderson, and Steve Turre. He’s performed in the orchestras of Broadway hits such as Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black & Blue, Side Show, Five Guys Named Mo’ and The Color Purple. As an author he’s written the instructional method book, “An Introduction To The Bb Concert Blues”, which is published by Charles Colin Publishing. Most recently, Allen and his group Push released their album The Rhythm (2026), complete with 13 songs composed and arranged by Allen.”
