4 mi, + hike, Hartshorne Woods w. Lighthouse Option & Great Lunch Too!

WE did rocky Point trail last week so lets do the sister trail – The Grand Tour and maybe add the lighthouse loop option.

Great workout in only about 4.0  miles. We will begin from the Rocky Point entrance which is paved and has beautiful bathrooms and first hike 4.1 miles on the interior Grand Tour Trail. An easier self return option exists at about 2.8 miles, though still hilly.

As mentioned, we can check out twinlights lighthouse after if enough interest.

This is our most strenuous hike in Monmouth due to the hills and roots and rocks in some spots, hence the “+” designation. All trials are otherwise well maintained and cleared.

You should not attempt unless you have been walking or otherwise staying in shape.

Bring water, bug spray and a snack if you wish. Boots always best and poles if you want. No dogs on this one.

Afterwards, those interested can go to Off the Hook Restaurant, a favorite which is close by and has some reasonable choices.
